If there's one beauty product I can never give up, it's foundation. I have always had issues with hyper-pigmentation and uneven skin tone, but thanks to some kick-ass foundations in the market, no one has to know that.
I am not a 'barely there, natural coverage, feels like skin' foundation kind of girl. When I look for a foundation...I MEAN BUSINESS. It has to have full coverage, be suitable for my oily skin and leave behind a flawless matte finish...not too much to ask for, right?
Here are my top 6 foundations that I can't live without.
1. Huda Beauty - #FauxFilter Foundation (My shade: Dulce De Leche 350G)
One of Instagram's most loved foundations, created by one of Instagram's most loved beauty bloggers, the Huda Beauty FauxFilter Foundation is perfect for taking pictures. Seriously, this foundation will conceal ANYTHING.
I do think the foundation is a little too heavy for everyday use, however it is an ideal choice for night outs and events. The coverage is truly F-L-A-W-L-E-S-S. One con, however, is that the foundation can be highly irritating for acne-prone skin and if you do the grave mistake of sleeping without taking this foundation off... you WILL be greeted by the acne monster in the morning.
2. Fenty Beauty - Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation (My shade: 310)
From the ultimate beauty boss to the ultimate bad girl, RiRi sent shock-waves through the beauty community when she came out with a whopping 40 foundation shades.
As the name suggests, the Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation has a soft matte finish and a build-able coverage. This foundation tends to oxidize upon application which is why I prefer it on days when I want to look slightly tanned/have a bronzey glow.
3. NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP Total Control Drop Foundation (My shade: TCDF11 Beige)
If you are on the hunt for a medium - full coverage foundation with a velvety matte texture that won't break the bank, look no further than NYX's Total Control Drop Foundation.
The consistency of the foundation is extremely runny which makes it feel very light on the skin despite being a full coverage foundation. This is also ideal for travel as the bottle is so tiny. I also love that it has a dropper dispenser which gives you complete control over the amount of product you use. A total winner from NYX!
4. Marc Jacobs Beauty - Re(marc)able Full Cover Concentrate (My shade: 54 Honey Medium)
If you are like me and your face literally eats up any makeup you have on, you need the Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation in your life. Believe you me, this stuff does not budge.
I love wearing this foundation when I know I am going to have long days/no time to touch up my makeup. The only thing I do not like about this foundation is the spatula like applicator which can get very messy. However, since the product is SO dope, I am willing to let that slide.
5. Marc Jacobs Beauty - Shameless Youthful Look 24 Hour Foundation (My shade: Medium Y390)
No, I haven't been sponsored by Marc Jacobs Beauty, they just know how to do foundations! I shamelessly love their Shamless foundation (see what I did there?) for daytime wear since it contains SPF 25.
This oil-free, weightless foundation provides buildable, medium coverage that blends seamlessly. If you are like me and find BB creams and tinted moisturizers way too light and natural, this foundation will be the ideal everyday choice for you.
6. DIOR BACKSTAGE - Face & Body Foundation (My shade: 3,5 Neutral)
So, I literally bought this last week after seeing the launch on my social media posted by influencers. Truth be told, I was drawn at the sleek yet cool packaging and I was really curious to see how this works.
Given that it is supposed to be a Face & Body Foundation, I expected it to be much thicker but to my shock it is actually REALLY LIGHT on the face. It feels like nothing when I wear it and the coverage is just about fine. It is build able if you want a more cakey look but I am currently using this as an everyday wear because of how light it feels. I do struggle with it when I am applying it on top of a creamy layer of my corrector, as I feel more product and good blending is needed when I am working on that area. But overall, I am really liking it! Also, I feel it adds a glow to my skin. It really looks luminous around my cheeks when I apply it! Oh and it comes in 40 SHADES plus the packaging makes it very travel friendly too as it almost a plastic-rubber ish bottle!
