What I Truly Feel About the New Fenty Beauty Range by Rihanna
September 12, 2017
Okay so I was recently invited to the much awaited launch of Fenty Beauty! If you do not know what Fenty Beauty is then you are living under a rock! LOL Just Kidding! Fenty is the range of some stunning beauty products created by the one and only RIHANNA! Firstly, I love Rihanna, her skin, her style, her music! She is just so edgy and effortless!
So anyway, Rihanna recently launched her own line of beauty products and the range is MASSIVE! It includes a primer, foundation shades, match sticks to conceal, contour, correct, highlighters, glowsticks, brushes and sponges for different purposes, blotting powder and paper and a lip gloss! An image of the products below
What made this launch even more exciting is that people knew it was coming but there was no sneak peek, look and feel, nothing of it! People knew something is coming but they had no idea what! And then she launched in 17 countries and over 1600 stores at the same time! You GO GIRL!
Anyway I got a chance to try a few of the products after the event. These are:
Pro Filt'r Soft Matter Longwear Foundation Foundation:
I personally think this is the HERO of the range for me. First of all she has over 40 shades this is available in, making the product super inclusive. After matching, I picked the shade 310 for myself. I do think that it has a bit of a yellow undertone and it isn't necessarily a FULL coverage or a super HIGH coverage but I personally like medium coverage foundations - so for me this really works! When you first apply it, it may seem really yellow - but give it 3-4 minutes to set and FLAWLESS is all you will look! I wore it the entire night yesterday and my skin felt really matte, not cakey - just perfect! Coverage was decent too tbh. The bottle is a glass bottle lol and my clumsy ass really needs to be careful
Price: AED 170
These are the honeycomb like magnetic sticks that you have been seeing all over. So the same packaging is used for Stix with shades for concealing, highlighting, contouring and correcting. She has light beige shades for concealing, browns for contouring, shimmers like purples and rose gold pinks for highlighting and oranges and red for blushes as well. Of these I tried 4 shades; Maple is the shade I bought and the last three shades below were given to us in a Match Stix Trio pack
1. Maple: Concealer
2. Linen: Highlight/Conceal
3. Amber: Contour
4. Starstruck: Highlight
Now I am not really a cream contour person to be honest. I prefer a more liquid product any day. The product is good but I feel it requires serious blending skills. I am not really patient with my makeup and on most days need something that is quick. I don't see myself using this everyday but maybe on days I have more time to do my makeup
I also feel that the Stix Trio I got, specially keeping the shade Amber in mind was way too ashy for my skin tone.I usually like a reddish undertone or a brighter brown when i contour. I know her product range has those shades as well, but this particular one didn't quite work for me.
Price: Individual Stick: AED 120; Match Stix Trio: AED 245
Killawatt FreeStyle Highlighter
There are two types of Killawatt highlighters - one is the single shade and the second one is the duo
The single one in Trophy Wife is that yellow gold highlighter the WHOLE WORLD is talking about. Now for me, this product is the BOMB.COM! I know people who have been reviewing this are saying it is too glittery, bla bla bla but if you give me a chance to shit glitter, I WILL! So b*tch please! I do feel if you are super fair I wouldn't recommend the Trophy Wife yellow gold for you, but if you are my shade or darker its going to be LIT AF!
The other kinds are the duos and what is really nice about the duos is that the left side is a more natural version of the glow and the right side of the palette has a more obvious and loud version of the highlight, allowing you to go from a day to night look with one product
Price: AED 160
Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer
So this is an almost clear lip gloss with a sticky texture and a fruity sweet taste. To be honest, there is nothing extra ordinary about it but it does look good. You may find dupes of the same but for me, I am not really into really glossy lips much so I don't see myself wearing this very often.
Price: AED 95
I have heard rave reviews of the foundation brush and the sponge and I think I will be getting my hands on those, just to give them a try! I do think if you were to buy something from this range, it should be the foundation and the Killawatt highlighter (it is so easy to use too)
All the products are only available at Sephora Stores and online on Sephora.ae here
