Dry hair? Here is what I did to take care!
January 15, 2017

Hi guys! So recently my hair, particularly the ends of my hair had become SO SO SO dry that it was just looking weird and untidy. And if you know me I always love a good hair day! I love getting my hair done, having neat or well done hair makes me feel alive! So when my ends were becoming way too dry I was a bit concerned. This was also happening because the color in my hair is wearing off and I need to go renew it - but I am waiting for my birthday to do so lol :P
Anyway, below are a few things I did to get the health of my hair back!

1. Oiling
I have started oiling my hair at home once a week and I am trying to go for a hot oil massage at the salon at least once in 2-3 weeks. The difference between the salon is that the steam adds moisture in the hair, making it slightly softer than before - at least that's what I feel

2. Heat Protect Spray
THIS I feel has made a significant difference. I blow dry and straighten my hair A LOT! And I have noticed an obvious difference when I use the spray and when I do not. Just wash your hair, towel dry it and then apply the spray before you dry your hair. Your hair will smell good and even feel better after! I use the TRESemme Heat Protect Spray and it is available in Spinneys and I think most other supermarkets
3. Serum
There are times when I apply serum after - these are usually shine serums which complete the look of the hair and add shine. To be very very honest with you, I do not always follow this step and do not really see much difference through this. If I remember, I apply it - if I don't - too bad! I have used two serums - one is the Touche Finale from Kerastase ( AED 130 approx) and Lee Stafford Poker Straight Shine Serum ( AED 45 approx)

4. Clean
I wash my hair EVERY SINGLE DAY! I do not necessarily suggest this for everyone. My scalp gets oily really fast and I hate the crown of my head looking oily - I feel like I am not clean. This is why I shampoo my hair everyday! And I have checked with a Trichologist ( a hair doctor) if there is anything wrong with shampooing your hair everyday, and against all myths there is nothing wrong with it! I keep changing my shampoos but I keep going back to Dove. I love their moisturizing range but I have recently fallen in love with their Advanced Hair Series range - it smells divine and feels super fresh!

5. Regular Trimming
I think this is the most important one! I use to be a fool to think that if I trim my hair every 6-8 weeks how will it ever grow? But there is no point in your hair growing with split ends that keep getting deeper and deeper. I feel regularly trimming you hair helps it look clean and gives you a fresh look too. I haven't really changed my hair style in the longest time or maybe even EVER! I have maintained the same look and length - too scared to experiment I guess lol

And to be honest, dry hair or not, these are a few things I do to my hair on a regular basis. Just that with the dryness increasing, I started noticing it more and increased some of the efforts such as oiling my hair at home!
